Caucasian-American. African-American. Latin-American. Asian-American. All Americans have life experiences which form who we are, what we believe, what we hold onto. Ticking explores five women’s memories of growing up in the same American city, Rochester, NY, at the end of the 20th century. Using movement, sound, poetry and story-telling, Ticking, written, directed and choreographed by Eleanor Comegys, floats from one memory to another and explores how Americans struggle to make contact with each other in the world’s greatest “melting pot.” The piece is performed by Monique Edwards, Melissa Fitzgerald, Renee Tan, Renee Dawson and Eleanor Comegys. Ticking will be performed at Gallery 825, 825 N. La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood, on Saturday, February 24th, 2007 and Saturday March 3rd, 2007 at 8pm. The doors will open at 7:30. There is limited capacity, so first come, first seated. Tickets will be $20 at the door (cash only), and the ticket price includes access to Gallery 825's current shows as well as a wine and cheese reception before and after the show. Wine will be provided by Oasis Winery. For more information, please send an email to info@lunacytheater.org.
